Cyber-Rain extends the functionality of XCI Cloud

Cyber-Rain extended the functionality of its XCI Cloud product. XCI Cloud allows managers of commercial and residential properties to manage an unlimited number of sites and controllers from any Internet-connected computer – and even through their smartphones. Cyber-Rain products are so efficient that they qualify for water-efficiency rebates around the country.

Cyber-Rain central irrigation control systems automatically adjust watering schedules based on local weather information. Unlike many other weather based irrigation controllers, Cyber-Rain does not charge a monthly fee for weather feeds, which helps managers of properties dramatically reduce operational costs. Among the features offered in the latest version of the XCI Cloud product are the addition of odd-even water scheduling, full integration with Blackberry mobile devices alongside its existing iPhone functionality, and GPS site and controller location information.

Cyber-Rain has teamed up with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) WaterSense program to become a WaterSense Partner.  The goal of WaterSense is to decrease consumers’ indoor and outdoor water use by promoting high-efficiency products and simple water-saving practices.

Cyber-Rain CEO James Krug said, “Despite advances in technology, most irrigation tools are still highly labor-intensive and require property managers and landscaping professionals to be on-site to make adjustments. XCI Cloud allows them to manage multiple systems from any Internet-connected computer and through iPhones. This not only saves time, but also gives property owners full control of their irrigation programs, and our reporting tools give visibility into how these programs are being implemented.”
