Eierman receives Garden Writers Association 2014 Silver Award of Achievement

Ecological landscape expert and writer Kim Eierman received the Garden Writers Association Silver Award of Achievement for her article, “Replacing the Green Desert: Meadowscaping and Other Native Alternatives,” in the Massachusetts Association of Landscape Professionals Newsline. The GWA award recognizes individuals and companies who achieve the highest levels of talent and professionalism in garden communications.


“The Garden Writers Association Media Awards showcase the writers, photographers, editors, publishers and trade companies that have pursued excellence in gardening communication in print or electronic communications,” said Larry Hodgson, president of GWA. “The Media Award winners have been judged by industry experts and show significant distinction and merits that exemplify exceptional work.”

Kim Eierman is an environmental horticulturist specializing in ecological landscapes and native plants. She is the Founder of EcoBeneficial!, a horticulture communications and consulting company. Eierman teaches at the New York Botanical Garden, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, The Native Plant Center et al. She has contributed to publications including the Journal News, Westchester Home and the Daily Voice. She is an active speaker on many ecological gardening topics, presenting at industry conferences, garden clubs, nature centers and more. A Certified Horticulturist through the American Society for Horticultural Science, Eierman is also a Master Gardener, a Master Naturalist, an Accredited Organic Landcare Professional and a Steering Committee member of The Native Plant Center.
