Greenworks launches 2017 Landscaper of the Year program

Greenworks Commercial unveiled an industrywide recognition program that salutes the extraordinary works of professional landscapers in their communities. The “Landscaper of the Year” program, which kicked off February 1, aims to honor the ‘best-of-the-best’ of the landscaping industry who apply their trade in a volunteer capacity to make a positive difference within their community. Through the program, Greenworks will award 11 deserving winners with a prize pack of its innovative, best-in-class, battery-powered 82V tools, and one overall Grand Prize winner will receive a dream trip to the 2017-18 College Football National Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

“In many ways, landscaping professionals are the unsung heroes of our communities,” said Chris Allen, president of Greenworks North America. “Despite working long days, professional landscapers find time – and energy – to care for local Little League fields, clean up an elderly person’s yard or maintain the grounds at their church. And rarely does anyone reward them! We want to honor and recognize the hardworking men and women that keep America, and our neighborhoods, beautiful and safe, so we’re excited to officially kick-off our 2017 ‘Landscaper of the Year’ awards program, providing national recognition to these deserving individuals and companies.”

Program Details are as follows:

Entry Mechanism: Each month, nominees or 3rd parties nominating someone will fill out a form on the “Landscaper of the Year” awards page of the Greenworks website. The form includes:

  • Name of individual making submission
  • Contact information for individual making submission
  • Name of nominee and company
  • Contact information for nominee and company
  • 200 word description of community service initiative – (1. what the project set out to achieve, 2. what the landscaper/company did, 3. what was the outcome?)
  • Optional: Maximum of 5 photos depicting initiative (before and after)

Nominations must be received by the 15th of the month in order to qualify for that month’s judging. One exception is that December 2017 nominations must be received by the November 2017 deadline (11/15/17), as November and December winners will be announced simultaneously.

Prizes: Greenworks will select 11 monthly winners each of whom will receive a “Greenworks 82V Prize Pack” valued at nearly $3,000. The pack will include: 82V 2.5 Ah Battery, 82V 4.0 Ah Battery, 82V 5.0 Ah Battery, 82V Charger, 82V 21’ Mower (Tool Only), 82V 18” String Trimmer (Tool Only), 82V Backpack Blower (Tool Only), 82V 26” Hedge Trimmer (TOOL ONLY) and an 82V 18” Chainsaw (Tool Only).

The runner-up in each monthly contest will receive a “Greenworks Commercial Fan Pack” of branded caps, apparel and promotional items.

Choosing Winners: A panel of Greenworks Commercial employees and subsidiaries will review all entries each month and choose 1 monthly winner and runner-up deserving of national recognition. As a complement to the “Landscaper of the Year” awards program, Greenworks Commercial will provide consumers with the ability to download a free “thank you” card for their favorite landscape professionals, from the Landscaper of the Year awards page.

The Greenworks 2017 “Landscaper of the Year” competition is open to both individuals and companies who have performed exemplary community service within North America.   For complete program rules and eligibility questions visit the program webpage at http://greenworkscommercial.com/landscaper-of-the-year-2017/.
