IA to co-locate 2016 Irrigation Show with Groundwater Week

The Irrigation Association will hold the 2016 Irrigation Show & Education Conference in conjunction with the National Ground Water Association’s 2016 Groundwater Week. The co-located event will take place Dec. 7 – 8, in Las Vegas.

“The idea of bringing the Irrigation Show and Groundwater Week together was brought to us years ago, and we’re excited to see it come to life next year,” said IA CEO Deborah Hamlin, CAE, FASAE. “By bringing these two groups together, we hope to encourage attendees to start thinking of innovative ways to tackle our industries’ common challenges.”

The Irrigation Show is the world’s largest irrigation exhibition. Each year, more than 4,000 attendees visit more than 300 exhibits for agriculture, landscape and golf irrigation. The weeklong event includes networking opportunities, technical sessions, education classes and certification exams.

NGWA’s expo is similar to the Irrigation Show in size and structure. The annual event attracts attendees from all sectors of the groundwater industry — water well drillers and contractors, manufacturers and suppliers, scientists, and engineers. The expo offers more than 60 hours of education classes, guest lecturers, skills testing activities and award presentations.

“This co-location will allow us to bring a more powerful program to all attendees,” said Kevin McCray, NGWA CEO. “Both of our events consistently draw high attendance numbers, and we expect to break records in 2016 with an estimated 600 exhibitors and 9,000 total attendees.”

The show floor will be open to both Irrigation Show and Groundwater Week registrants. NGWA and IA will also co-host an opening reception, keynote presentation and groundwater summit.
