The Jacobsen-maintained Diamante Dunes course at Cabo San Lucas in Mexico has been ranked the best new international golf course of 2010 by Golf magazine. The 7,300 yards, par 72 Dunes course was designed by Davis Love III and is situated six miles north of Cabo San Lucas, on the Baja Peninsula’s western coast. The Dunes is maintained by a fleet of Jacobsen turf maintenance equipment supplied by Golf Ventures West of Lakeland, FL.

The fleet includes 10 Eclipse 122 walking greens mowers with groomers, two LF3800s with 11-blade reels and groomers,  two TR3 tees and trim mowers, three G-Plex III ride-on greens mowers, a tractor mounted 214 five reel Verticut unit, three diesel Cushman Turf-Trucksters and other ancillary equipment. E-Z-GO, also a Textron Inc company, supplied 12 ST400 utility vehicles for use by superintendent Bill Ousterhout and his team.

Matt Boland of Diamante Cabo San Lucas said,

“I’m delighted and excited with this prestigious honor for the development. Our course has been recognized for its design, playability and overall golfing experience. The management and staff here are very proud of this accolade as it reflects the dedication and professionalism they achieve every day to ensure the enjoyment of our guests and residents.

Superintendent Bill Ousterhout added,

“I am fortunate to have well trained and highly motivated staff to maintain the Dunes and they take enormous pride in what they do. Their dedication to excellence has certainly made a significant contribution to this recognition. We also have some of the very best and most innovate equipment to help us in our quest for perfection here at Diamante Cabo San Lucas.”
