NALP announces Leadership Academy Certificate Program

The National Association of Landscape Professionals has joined forces with Cornell University’s SC Johnson School of Business to offer a leadership certificate course, designed just for landscape and lawn care professionals, which will be held Sept. 10-13. Participants will engage in a one-of-a-kind curriculum, which builds foundational executive leadership skills for industry professionals, delivered by a world-class faculty.

The NALP Leadership Academy offers students the opportunity to:

  • Engage in a one-of-a-kind curriculum that packages foundational executive leadership skills and targeted landscape industry issues, delivered by world-class faculty;
  • Advance professional careers by earning a program certificate from Cornell University;
  • Develop leadership skills that will help advance goals; and
  • Network with peers and colleagues from across the nation.

Instructors include Risa Mish, Erica Dawson, Drew Pascarella and others. Mish teaches courses in team leadership and critical and strategic thinking. She was a partner in the New York City law firm of Collazo Carling & Mish LLP, where she represented management clients on a wide range of labor and employment law matters, including defense of employment discrimination claims in federal and state courts and administrative agencies, and in labor arbitrations and negotiations under collective bargaining agreements.

Dr. Erica Dawson is a teacher, researcher, executive coach, and director of leadership programs at the Cornell University College of Engineering. Previously she was assistant professor of management and organizations at the Yale School of Management, where she taught her popular leadership and negotiation courses to executive and MBA students for 9 years.

Drew Pascarella is a lecturer of finance at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, where he currently leads the Investment Banking Immersion program. He has taught Core Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions (Executive MBA level), Investment Banking Essentials (undergraduate level), and Lectures in Finance.
