PERC’s propane mower incentive doubles from $1,000 to $2,000

Beginning in October 2014, landscape professionals can earn double the incentive dollars available through the Propane Mower Incentive Program offered by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC). Through the end of the year, program participants can earn $2,000 toward the purchase of a new propane-powered mower and $1,000 toward a qualified conversion.

Attendees at the Green Industry & Equipment Expo (GIE+EXPO), which will be held at the Kentucky Exposition Center Oct. 22-24 in Louisville, Ky., can receive more information at PERC’s booth #7094.

“Our Propane Mower Incentive Program has been a valuable asset to contractors and fleet managers transitioning from gasoline or diesel to clean, American-made propane, whether it’s one mower or an entire fleet,” said Jeremy Wishart, deputy director of business development for PERC. “Propane already offers significant fuel and maintenance savings over conventional fuels, and now through our doubled incentive, landscapers can realize an even faster ROI.”

Since the program’s inception in 2012, more than 500 contractors have received incentive dollars in exchange for data about their usage and mower performance. The doubled incentive runs from Oct. 1-Dec. 31, 2014. Contractors can apply at propane.com.

PERC is celebrating the increased incentive through a “Double Your Money” promotion at GIE+EXPO. Attendees who visit Toro’s or Exmark’s outdoor booth space and view or test drive a propane-powered mower will receive a marked ticket, earning them a chance to spin PERC’s prize wheel. Participants can win a chance to be entered into drawings for a propane grill, a $500 Visa gift card, or the top “Double Your Money” prize: a $1,000 Visa gift card drawing.

Several pieces of propane-powered equipment, including Exmark, Grasshopper, Gravely, Toro and Walker mowers; a Generac portable generator; and Kohler dedicated propane engines will be on display in PERC’s booth, giving dealers and contractors a firsthand look at the newest propane technology. Additionally, booth visitors can watch testimonial videos, test the new landscape cost calculator iPad app available in mid-September, and grab a PROPANE Clean American Energy decal for their mowers.
