The Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) reported that its 2014 School of Grounds Management was a success. The event was held during GIE+EXPO 2014 in Louisville, Ky.
Some highlights are as follows:
- Three campuses were honored with the PGMS Landscape Management and Operations Accreditation. This program is a dynamic evaluation tool designed to be used by facilities and organizations that have a landscape services or grounds component. The campuses that were honored are University of California- Davis, University of Delaware and The College of Wooster.
- PGMS honored several grounds professionals with numerous awards as part of their annual Awards Dinner that took place Friday, Oct. 24 during the 2014 School of Grounds Management & GIE+EXPO held in Louisville, Ky.
- PGMS also installed the new board at the 2014 School of Grounds Management & GIE+EXPO. John Burns, CGM of the University of Texas in Austin was elected and installed as the new president.
- PGMS recognized 26 grounds management programs for excellence in the Society’s 2014 Green Star Awards Competition. The 42nd annual awards were announced during the Society’s 2014 School of Grounds Management.
