Registration now open for variable rate irrigation webinar

Registration is now open for Irrigation Association’s next webinar, “Implementing Variable Rate Center Pivot Irrigation,” which will be held Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, 2 – 3 p.m. Eastern.

The focus will be on providing recommended steps for the successful implementation of variable rate irrigation with a center pivot as well as how to continue being economically successful using variable rate irrigation. A brief history of VRI and key terms will be discussed. The presentation will lead you through the following steps for implementation:

About the presenter, Jacob L. LaRue:

Jake LaRue, director of research and development of the Innovation and Intellectual Properties group for Valmont Global Irrigation, began his career in 1976 for an irrigation dealer. Over the past 40 years in the industry, LaRue has worked for three center pivot/irrigation dealers, three consulting firms and for a manufacturer. In his various positions as an application engineer, territory manager and product manager, LaRue developed feasibility studies and design applications and installed and/or managed irrigation projects in more than 20 countries. LaRue is a registered professional engineer. He is an active member of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers and current chairman of the ASABE’s Natural Resources and Environmental Systems 241 Sprinkler Irrigation Committee. He is also a member of the Irrigation Association’s Standards and Codes Committee.
