SnowEx announces “The Power of Salt Brine” training tour

SnowEx announced an upcoming national educational tour titled “The Power of Salt Brine” that will travel to various Midwest and Northeast cities from August through September. The training tour will give contractors a face-to-face opportunity, in their home areas, to learn best practices for using liquids as part of their management plan for snow and ice control.

The subject matter will explore how snow and ice professionals can:

  • Operate more efficiently and reduce costs by adding salt brine to their operations, thereby increasing profitability.
  • Effectively sell liquid ice control strategies to customers and build these services into contracts.
  • Reduce potential liability by using liquid ice control techniques.
  • Minimize the environmental impacts of rock salt on infrastructure, ecosystems and water sources, and significantly reduce property damage.

Training sessions will be led by Daniel Gilliland, training manager for SnowEx Liquid Solutions in North America. A certified snow professional (CSP) since 2003, Gilliland served as president of SIMA in 2011 and has over 25 years of experience in commercial snow and ice control. He also founded CrewTracker Software and owned a “Top 100” snow and ice company, SnowFighters US LLC.

“We want to share knowledge our customers can use for the economic benefit of their business,” said Gilliland. “Equally important, however, is the environmental aspect of using liquids. With potential legislation on the horizon, it’s more important than ever for contractors to understand how to protect themselves through improved ice control methods.”

From August 9 to September 22, “The Power of Salt Brine” tour will visit various cities in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ontario, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New York.
