Tallgrass Restoration launches design department

Tallgrass Restoration, a leader in native landscape stewardship and ecosystem restoration services, introduced a design department to expand its services to corporate, public, and private landowners and developers.

Tallgrass offers its design capabilities directly to clients of its installation and restoration services, and provides native landscape design and architecture on a consulting basis to architects, engineers and design firms. The company operates from facilities in Schaumburg, Ill., and Milton, Wis.

Tallgrass appointed Ryan Templeton, project designer, to manage the new department.  Templeton, who joined the firm in 2008, earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Ball State University, Muncie, Ind. Templeton’s recent design projects have included landscape plans for Frankfort Square Park District and Covered Bridges, a conservation development near Williams Bay, Wis.

“Our native design and planning services provide clients with solutions that satisfy both aesthetic and ecological objectives,” Templeton explained. “Our designs provide many benefits – improving storm water management and erosion control, reducing the impact of non-native species, increasing biodiversity and sustainability, protecting beneficial wildlife species and, not the least important, beautifying the landscape.

“We look to nature to guide our hand in crafting inspirational designs,” Templeton said.

Tallgrass’ designs integrate native plant species and site ecology with modern engineering capabilities to create sustainable ecosystems that protect the integrity of land and water resources.
