The Water Zone radio show receives Congressional recognition

The Water Zone radio show, sponsored by The Toro Company, has been presented with a special Congressional Recognition Certificate for “Outstanding Communications & Educational Outreach Regarding Water Issues & Policies.” The certificate was sponsored by U.S. Congressman Ken Calvert from California’s 42nd District.

The award-winning radio program, launched in June of 2015, brings together numerous local, state, federal and international government officials, water experts, civic leaders and a wide variety of technologists to discuss today’s water challenges and explore potential strategies for sustaining one of our most precious resources. In addition, the show features a monthly segment dedicated to agricultural water usage and the specific challenges the industry faces related to water.

“We are extremely honored and humbled to receive this recognition,” says Rob Starr, producer and co-host of The Water Zone. “The goal of the show is to provide a platform to channel valuable information to the public and give listeners the opportunity to speak directly with industry experts.”

U.S. Congressman Ken Calvert commented, “California’s water supply impacts our economy, our environment, our food supply and our quality of life. Kudos to The Toro Company for sponsoring The Water Zone. Its comprehensive approach to educating listeners about water issues is without a doubt a service to our community.”

The Water Zone is broadcast on iHeart radio and throughout Southern California on NBC News Radio KCAA radio 1050 AM, 102.3 FM and 106.5 FM.
