Toro sponsors the Professional Grounds Management Society

Toro extended and expanded its support for the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) as a Gold Elite Partner in Professionalism in 2011. Toro has committed additional support to the Society, which will allow PGMS to enhance its member education and certification programs. PGMS members include sports turf professionals, horticulturalists, arborists, irrigation professionals, pesticide applicators, as well as general managers and grounds superintendents.
“We are proud to sponsor the PGMS and their initiatives to provide education and resources to grounds management professionals,” says Jay Guthy, business development manager for Toro’s Irrigation Business. “Through this partnership, Toro has the opportunity to support the PGMS and its members as they tackle key industry issues, develop techniques and management skills to address those issues, and work to implement precision irrigation solutions that ensure outstanding grounds management programs.”
As a Gold Elite Partner, Toro will utilize specialized marketing programs for green industry suppliers including e-mail marketing, advertising, feature articles in the PGMS Grounds Management Forum and the Grounds for Thought e-newsletter, sponsorship of the PGMS School of Grounds Management at the GIE+EXPO, and regional visitation programs.
PGMS members are responsible for the management of staff, money, materials and equipment utilized in maintaining and enhancing a landscaped site. “At Toro, we provide a host of commercial turf maintenance equipment that meet these professionals’ unique business needs,” says Paula Sliefert, senior marketing manager for Toro’s Commercial Business. “As a sponsor of the PGMS, we will continue to work closely with the PGMS to address members’ needs and to advance the grounds management profession.”
