Film screenings scheduled during WSI 2012

Some of the most thought-provoking films about the need for increased water-efficiency and stewardship of our planet’s most important natural resource will be screened at WaterSmart Innovations (WSI) 2012.

On Wednesday, October 3, WSI will host a screening of the documentary film WATERSHED beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the Sonoma Rooms of the South Point Conference Center.

Executive produced and narrated by Robert Redford and directed by award-winning filmmaker Mark Decena, WATERSHED tells the story of the threats to the once-mighty Colorado River and offers solutions for the future of the American West.

WSI also will present winning films from Rain Bird’s Intelligent Use of Water Film Competition on Friday, October 5, from 8-9 a.m. in Sonoma A.

The Intelligent Use of Water™ Film Competition accepts entries from amateur, professional, experienced and inexperienced filmmakers. Over the past four years, the competition received and reviewed entries from a wide range of filmmakers, from first-time amateurs to experienced professionals. All that is required is a desire to spread awareness of the need to use water more efficiently.
