Gravely teamed up with landscaping industry consultant Marty Grunder to host an Elite Retreat for landscape professionals at the company’s corporate headquarters March 8-10, 2017.
During the event, landscape professionals participated in three days of intensive learning and networking with other business owners in their industry. Gravely managers lead educational sessions on topics including hiring and retention, creating core values, implementing lean manufacturing techniques, increasing efficiency, and social selling. Gravely product managers also lead attendees in discussions about industry hot topics like choosing equipment to increase productivity, and the pros and cons of different engine technologies.
“Hosting this retreat with Marty Grunder was a great experience for our team,” said Ariens Company VP of Marketing, Matt Medden. “At Gravely, one of our main priorities is listening to and learning form landscape professionals that use our equipment every day. This was a great opportunity for us to host these professionals, hear what they have to say, and return the favor by sharing our knowledge.”
Grunder hosts several Elite Retreats per year, and these events are invitation-only retreats for owners and leadership teams of landscaping companies with revenues of more than $1 million. Some retreats are held in Marty’s “personal laboratory,” Grunder Landscaping Co. in Dayton, Ohio. Other retreats are held around the country at other successful landscaping or manufacturing operations. The agenda for each retreat varies depending on the location, nearby sites of particular relevance, and the topic selected for a deep dive.
